The Q4 Close Room
Don’t enter 2027 empty-handed.
Q4 is where next year starts.
Win the right business now and January begins with momentum. Lose it and you start the year filling a hole.
And Q4 is shorter than it looks.
Client work. Procurement. Thanksgiving. Holidays. Delayed decisions. People disappearing for a week and then another.
If there is a pitch that can materially change 2027, now is the time to look at it harder while there is still time to change the outcome.
The Q4 Close Room is built for exactly that.
A private half-day working session built around your active pursuits, using my Pitch EQ tools and 30+ years of experience winning, losing, leading and coaching pitches from the front lines.
This is pitch doctoring
We work the pursuit you need to win.
You already know how to pitch.
My job is to get inside the pursuit with you, challenge what you may be too close to see, identify where the pitch is vulnerable and help make the strategic moves that can improve your probability of winning.
We work both sides of the pitch.
The IQ
Strategy, story, proof, work, value and commercial logic.
The EQ
Client psychology, hidden agendas, chemistry, casting, meeting dynamics, relationships and what actually has to happen for the client to say yes.
A three-stage process to help you win the pitch that matters most.
This is the Deep Dive. Need a faster read first? The 48-hour Sprint is below.
Before the Room
I do the homework.
Send me the RFP, brief, deck, client notes, relationship history, competitive intelligence, previous meeting feedback and anything else that matters.
I review it deeply and use prep calls with the team where needed.
I come into the room already understanding the business, the people, the pitch you’re building and where I think you’re vulnerable.
In the Room
Four hours. Your team. Your pitch.
We work the pursuit using the Pitch EQ Method.
The real brief. Hidden Agenda. Client profiling. Buying dynamics. Strategy. Story. Proof. Casting. Chemistry. Meeting theater. Rehearsal. Relationship moves.
And most importantly.
What can we still do that changes the odds?
After the Room
The work doesn’t stop when I leave.
We use the remaining advisory time for follow-up discussion, questions, refinements and counsel as the pitch moves forward.
The goal is not to leave you with notes.
It is to help you turn what we decided into action.
Up to 10 hours of preparation, consulting calls and pre/post-session support, in addition to the four-hour working session.
Where pitches are won or lost.
Read the Real Brief
What does the client say they want? What do they actually need to believe?
We look beyond the RFP at the business stakes, personal stakes, hidden agendas and real buying dynamics.
Understand the Room
Who really decides? Who influences? Who wants you to win? Who needs reassurance?
We pressure-test the buying room, relationships, chemistry and client profiles.
Find What Can Change the Odds
The strategy. The team. The story. The proof. The work. The economics. The meeting itself.
Maybe the deck needs work.
Maybe the team needs to change.
Maybe we should build the prototype, produce the idea or show the client something nobody asked for.
The question isn’t “How do we improve the pitch?”
It’s “What can we still do to win?”
Design the Pitch Experience
Who opens. Who closes. Who speaks. Who shouldn’t.
What does the client need to feel? When should you present and when should you stop presenting?
The goal is simple.
Make it already feel like you’re their agency.
Rehearse What Matters
Not a ceremonial run-through.
We pressure-test the story, difficult questions, objections, transitions, value defense and the moments where the room can turn.
Win Between the Meetings
The pitch does not begin when the presentation starts or end when the meeting is over.
Who should connect? What should you share, build or demonstrate? What should happen before the next interaction?
Every touchpoint should move the client closer to yes.
What changes.
You leave with
A sharper understanding of what the client is really buying
A clear read on the decision makers, influencers and hidden agendas
The biggest reasons you could lose
Specific recommendations to strengthen the pitch
Changes to casting, chemistry, story, meeting design and rehearsal where needed
The questions you have not asked yet
The moves that can still improve the outcome
Clear next actions before the next client interaction
30+ years in the pitch room.
Thousands of in-room pitches, from first brief to final presentation.
I’ve carried the number as Global President, CMO, CRO and CGO at McCann, Huge and Havas.

My particular strength is the part that rarely appears in the brief.
Client profiling. Hidden agendas. In-room dynamics. Meeting theater. Casting. Rehearsal. Relationship strategy. Understanding what actually has to happen for a client to say yes.
I’m also competitive as hell.
Two ways in.
Who it’s for
Indie agency CEOs, founders, growth leaders and new business teams with one high-stakes active pitch or pursuit they really want to win.
If there is meaningful business on the line, bring it.
